Ok I got your attention and as we all know Grand Park is alive and well and will be for many years. The reason for the title is a mindset I have learned to inherit not just because its healthy but because if I continue to hope something miraculous is going to happen in the short term, I will be out of business in no time.

Understand that I invested heavily in development of this park happening and created an entire brand around it called Grand Park Properties, “Bringing Business to the Playing Field”. To this day I believe that they will come but until then, I must change my focus.

In turn I have to go and look at the amazing assets that Westfield Indiana has and must use them to target, attract and persuade businesses to not only locate here but they need to convince employees, families and their vendors to come here. Westfield has SR 32 which is a major artery that runs from I-69 to I-65 and cuts through Noblesville, Fishers, Westfield and Zionsville. These are not too shabby of places to feed traffic from. Westfield has awesome demographics like high incomes, educated families, great schools and tremendous amounts of disposable income. Stats like this make for a hotbed of sales and services doing very well per capita. Westfield has an empty downtown. Downtown Westfield is primed for redevelopment and has about 36,000 residents that want a reason to walk, bike or drive to its city center. Just look at the success of Park Street and the other restaurants. Just under a dozen restaurants that did not exist but about 5 or 6 years ago are all doing seemingly well and are for the most part independently owned and operated. We have low cost of living(for now). To be able to offer your employees and families an affordable place to live and work is invaluable today, so everyone from the new sales guy to the executive team can find nice reasonable homes to live in. We have a second to none trail system. The Westfield Parks Department has done more then a fantastic job over the past decade to connect all corners of our community with smooth trails, beautiful nature parks and outdoor spaces to hang out and relax.

So as you can see We have many valuable assets to pitch to outsiders and that is exactly what I am going to do. As I committed to several years ago, I am going to promote this community as a place to do business for these reasons above: SR23, Strong Demographics, a Downtown, Restaurants, Affordability and Trails. All without mentioning the big park to the West which someday will also be a huge asset. We can attract the best companies from tech to manufacturing and all of them can enjoy what has already been established as a top community to live in the United States. So lets all do our best to not focus on whats not working just yet but what opportunities and benefits Westfield has to offer. Now lets put our promotion hats on and Sell our City.
