We have a lot of time on our hands right now and plenty of time to work on future projects when it comes to our properties for sale. This could actually be a blessing for your property as you time when to put it on the market. Below are a few suggestions of ways to improve your future listing and being even more prepared to go live.
- Make a Video – Nobody loves their house and wants to brag on its features like a seller and just because they don’t have an “R” next to their name doesn’t mean they can’t make a sweet short video. Ask someone to slowly follow you around your straightened up house and talk about some of the key points. New kitchens, walk in closets, beautiful yard or the floor plan can be shown and told with a nice video. Take your time and start over if you don’t love it but do it and buyers will love the personal tough. Heres a tutorial
- Pro tip – Walk slowly, Talk Slowly and shut your toilet seats
- Paint – Anyone can paint especially people that are stuck at home and nowhere to go. Lowe’s is still open and cautiously grabbing a gallon of paint and supplies can make a great full day project. Heres a tutorial
- Pro tip – Start with taping and edging and paint slowly but with confidence. If you get the hard stuff done first, grabbing the roller to finish up is a breeze
- Landscaping – I have a hard time starting a landscaping project because they take time. We have time! Get out in that fresh air and trim the bushes, dig up the dead tree or re edge the sidewalks. Its a great exercise and helps with the first impression when spring gets here. What not to do
- Pro tip – Reach out to a couple of neighbors with the same idea and split the cost of a decent dumpster. It will help you clean up the property much quicker and give you space to throw away some old junk.
Now is not the time to list necessarily but its time to ready your future listing. Make a good list of projects you can take on yourself and do properly and start chipping away. You will be surprised at how better your home looks and I promise buyers will appreciate the extra effort. Good luck and stay well
